Signature Research (SGR), Inc. is a small business specializing in the Research and Development (R&D), integration and deployment of signature management technologies, multi-spectral target and background signature generation and collection, analysis, modeling and simulation, software development, and operational analysis. SGR’s Calumet, MI office has an immediate position for an experienced Program Manager interested in supporting and developing Department of Defense (DoD) and Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) programs in the evaluation of signature management technologies, weapon system survivability, operational analysis and ISR (Intelligence, Search and Reconnaissance) focal areas.

The candidate must possess the following skills:

  • Very strong written and communication skills and be able to confidently interface with new and existing customers on a daily basis.
  • Possess prior military or government expertise and be considered a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the areas of Operational Analysis, Research and Development, Weapon System Survivability, or ISR.
  • Generate novel and forward thinking ideas for new business development in the areas of signature management (Acoustic, Visual, NIR, SWIR, MWIR, LWIR & RF), Weapon System Survivability, Modeling and Simulation of advanced technologies, Operational Analysis, Military Utility Analysis, Threat System Exploitation or ISR Systems.
  • Conduct requirement trade-off analyses, provide technical assessments, support design and fabrication prototype technologies and conduct field evaluations and analyses of integrated survivability systems.
  • Manage several programs concurrently.
  • Take ownership and responsibility to ensure program technical requirements are achieved within schedule and budgetary constraints.
  • Interface with the Engineering & Computing Managers to identify staffing needs, mentor junior engineers and assist with proposal generation.
  • Possess self-starter characteristics and be able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a high-paced and highly technical environment.
  • Support occasional travel to various locations in the United States may be required (10%-20%)
  • Must be able to pass a U.S. Government Background Check
  • Be willing to relocate to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula

Senior Programmer/Software Developer

SGR’s Calumet, MI office has an immediate position for an experienced individual interested in supporting Department of Defense (DoD) and Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) programs in the evaluation of signature management technologies, virtual and dynamic scene generation, analytical software development, aided and automated target recognition, and instrumentation data collection design and development. This position requires a degree from an accredited university in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Physics. Experience in producing deliverable code is desired. The successful applicant will be required to apply and qualify for a DoD security clearance.

This position will focus upon the development of software and analytical tools in support of a variety of Modelling and Simulation (M&S) activities. A strong background in physics based rendering and image generation is desired. The candidate will also be responsible for the development of software requirements, algorithms, programming, testing, validation and verification, and configuration control. Software development will include interfacing with a variety of commercial and government owned software systems. The candidate must be a self-starter and be able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a high-paced and highly technical environment. Research/Design Engineer

SGR’s Navarre FL office has an immediate position for an individual interested in supporting Department of Defense (DoD) and Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) programs in the evaluation of signature management technologies, target surrogate design and analysis, aided and automated target recognition algorithm design, sensor data collection, instrumentation data collection design and development, RF and IR signature modeling, and field testing. This position requires a BS degree from an accredited university in Electrical Engineering or Physics. Experience in electro-optical, infrared, radar, millimeter wave, and Xpatch is desired. The successful candidate must be able to pass a U.S. Government background check.

The individual hired for this position will work in SGR’s Navarre FL office. This position will support electro-optical, infrared, and radar field test and evaluation activities for short durations on a number of Eglin Air Force Base test ranges. On-site support may involve extended hours. Once data collection activities are complete, the candidate will support data calibration, data reduction and reformatting, data analysis and development of reports and briefings. Candidate will be responsible for developing a wide variety of signature data products, and will be required to develop/modify software routines written in the MATLAB programming language. Testing at remote test locations throughout the US may be required, necessitating travel for periods of up to two weeks or more to various locations throughout the US.

The candidate will also be responsible for  modifying computer aided design target geometry models, executing IR and RF signature predictive codes, conducting analyses, writing reports, and developing briefings on a variety of efforts. Candidate may also support marketing and business development activities, and will be required to provide briefings to customers on completed work.
